Any advice for the jr. teen division of National American Miss pageant?

I am so excited to be competing in the national american miss pageant in august. I still have to get ready for everything in the pageant but i don't want to start doing something and hear from experts that i am doing it all wrong! If you could tell me any advice on the pageant at all it would be wonderful! Any suggestions for any part of the pageant is appreciated.





If you have ever won before, please help me too! I want to do the best i can! Please tell me any secret tips to winning or what the judges are looking for.

I have been with NAMISS for 4 years now and have done very well in the past.


One thing you should expect is that there will be over 50 girls especially in your age division, so this isn't the 5 person pageant you might me used to.


Have a really unique Personal Introduction, and be really bubbly in the interview.


As my mom told me, you have to be so aggressive in National American Miss, by being outgoing. You can't hold back if you want to win, you just have to go for it.

I haven't been in pageants before but I have seen them, and if it's anything like what it looks like, you need to have something special about you. For instance, don't try and be like everyone else - they all have cutesy plaits, so stick to sweeping loose hair. Take up a team sport to say that you can work with others, and if you do some music instruments you'll have an edge over other people. If you do something unusual like kayaking or windsurfing people will notice you for that reason. Try to be sincere.
Oh i have done NAM three times!!! i only made top five though, each time. Be yourself, and pick areas of the competition that you shine in. Like if you are a good artist, do the art competition. If you are phtogenic, do the cover model competition. Just give it your all and know that even if you don't make it far, you are still a winner. Make sure to add that in when you are being interveiwed, LOL that's what i did when i was in fourth grade.
OMG IM DOING THE PAGEANT THIS YEAR TO! im 13 i should be in jr.teen but i was born Jan 2nd! so close lol
